President Donald Trump has announced $2.4 billion in AI research commitments from 11 industry partners to support the Genesis Mission, the administration’s effort to apply AI tools to scientific research across the federal government. The announcement was made on October 8, 2026, at a White House summit titled Science: A New Golden Age.
The pledges were led by Nvidia with $1 billion, AMD with $500 million and OpenAI with $200 million. Anthropic and Google each committed $150 million, AMP and Emerald AI pledged $100 million apiece, and AWS, Armada, Crusoe and Micron contributed $50 million each. Anthropic’s contribution is a three-year commitment giving more than 15 federal science agencies access to Claude.
The commitments take the form of compute credits, which the White House said will support more than 15 federal agencies working on national science and technology challenges. The pledges build on the Genesis Mission’s July expansion, which brought in over 15 federal agencies and a $5 billion federal commitment covering areas such as energy, health and space.
The White House said the summit’s initiatives amount to more than $6 billion in investments across government, industry, academia and philanthropy. The Energy Department also announced $159 million in new phase II Genesis Mission project awards and $96 million for early-career researchers.
